Where are you focusing your Efforts. A Law of Attraction Observation I had an interesting day yesterday. It all started with a goof and ended up with some great observation of the today’s economy.

When I finished, I went into pay and then returned to my vehicle. Guess what I found?

We have all done it at least once…yep, I had locked my keys in the car.

So back into the store I went to use their phone and call AAA to get some help. Great service by the way.

They informed me it would be up to an hour before they could get a locksmith out there because they were all out on call already. So I resigned to wait and bought some coffee to occupy my time during the wait.

Its quite embarrassing to be waiting in front of a gas station with your keys locked up. But what you gonna do? To me, I feel like a vagrant looking for hand outs. I’m sure most of you can relate.

Anyways, as I stood there waiting and watching I noticed something. Now just to give you a little back ground on my location, I was not in an economically booming part of town. It is an busy area, just off a highway exit ramp, so there is a lot going on. However, the area itself is low income, small houses and lots or rentals.

I mention this only because it relates to what I saw during my hour there.

The station was non stop customers. Not so much gas buyers, but more for liquor, smokes and lottery tickets. A lot of lottery tickets, everything from scratch off to the various number picking games.

You see, that night was the drawing for the bigger lottery game and it was up to 40 million or something. So everyone was clamoring for the shot at the big money.

As I noticed this I remember a fact that I read in one of my wealth books on how the average adult spends more on lottery tickets than they put in their retirement accounts.

What’s interesting is I was witnessing this first hand. And all I could think was…WHY?

Why are they wasting time on these futile attempts at wealth?

Why are they not learning a new skill instead?

Why aren’t they putting that money away for a rainy day or into a 401k?

Then it dawned on me. Maybe they don’t have a 401k. Maybe they don’t have a good job. Maybe they don’t understand that there are ways to improve their situations.

Or maybe they are just content on wishing and hoping.

That’s what happens when you lose hope and faith in yourself. You become complacent that “this is my life and that’s the way it is”.

That you can not do anything about it. That you can’t get a better job. That you can’t succeed!

When ever we feel lost or lose confidence these thought creep in usually unchecked. And if for just one second you believe it, your journey stops and changes direction.

The minute you commit to these thoughts you have given up, if only for the moment, and you have to redirect all over again to back on track.

The point is… there is always a better way. There are always options.

You have to take control and make the choice, Either to succeed or to fail. Every minute of everyday your thoughts and beliefs are making these decisions and moving you toward that choice.

So make the choice everyday in every moment to succeed. Make the choice to be positive. Make the choice to take action to move towards your goals even in the face of adversity.

That’s what winners do. That’s what creates success. It is your choice.
