What is Attraction Marketing and how do You Use It?
I get this question all the time from new marketers; “What
is Attraction Marketing anyways?” and “How do I use it for
my business?” I have heard people talk about it but do not
know how to implement it into my business." Well there are
several definitions but here is my interpretation.

Attraction Marketing is using marketing methods, in a
specific way, to attract the right visitor to your website
or to click on your ad. Now that is the very basic
definition but I trust you get the idea.
Other ways to look at marketing through attraction is to
target the keywords you use in your ads to find a specific
audience. Or, to use keyword phrases that work in the same
way, they target certain people and, when done correctly, a
certain action.
For example, if I were to market a diet program, I would
use keywords that reflect a problem in the diet industry,
therefore targeting visits from those who may be
experiencing that problem.
You may also target the audience with specific benefit
phrases to offer a great solution with your product. An
example to that would be to say “faster weight loss with
xyz, try it today.” Or “speeds up your metabolism”.
The simplest way to see which method works the best is to
test your ads and track the result. Which ever method,
either pointing out a problem or offer a solution, delivers
the best results is the winner.
Now, a perfect ad would do both. If you can place a problem
and solution is one small ad, then you have something to
work with. Then continue testing with different versions
until you have a few winners.
The best way to use attraction marketing though, in my
opinion, is with content. Posting an article, press
release, new webpage or a blog post is a great way to get
to attract new visitors. With any of these methods you have
a chance to use a headline which can hold a more specific
keyword phrase.
The added bonus is that it is a free method and will often
get you listed in the search engines. Plus, with content,
you can address both problems and solutions to attract an
even more specific audience.
Next time you are going to do some advertising give the
attraction marketing methods a try. And as usual, find what
works and run with it. Consistency is a key to long term
success.
