TEAM BUILDING FOR HOMEBASED BUSINESS SUCCESS

No matter what Homebased Business you start chances are team building will be a part of your business. In some cases it’s the only part of your business if your product includes your business opportunity as part of the deal.

It has been a known fact that the idea of building a successful team is a challenge. So many of the people getting involved in homebased business have no idea what it will take to achieve any real success.

Add to that statement that they also lack the needed skills to use the internet, or any marketing at all, and it is easy to see why so many struggle to hit their financial goals.

Part of this issue is the new folks’ need to make a sale, and the profit that goes with it, that they may neglect assisting others, but as professional marketers will tell you, if it were a perfect world, their team would duplicate out in a never ending chain with them as the first link.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. Dropouts in MLM’s and Network Marketing are sky high and I venture to say it is because of a lack of team building skills required to succeed.

The focus is usually put on making personal sales. Chances are they cannot give much advice either, since they may be new, to assist anyone even themselves.

Effective leadership skills should be a requirement for all new team members because at anytime a new link is broken so is the chain.

The focus should be put into helping your new members make money and assuring they are a strong link. If they succeed, so do you. So why wouldn’t you want to assist them?

Becoming the leader also means having people to lead and developing them into the next leader. If you’re not doing this, you are failing them and your business.

I’m not suggesting that you neglect your own business to develop the business for others. If they are not doing the work then move on until they take action and show they are coachable.

I am suggesting that you share ALL your knowledge and skills on marketing and team building to assist them. Teach them how you recruited them, how you advertised, and how you can assist them to do the same.

In a big company, sales managers are typically not the ones with the most sales. Instead, they are the ones who can train the most people to get sales. They institute training and share knowledge so that everyone succeeds.

I have known business owner at both ends of the spectrum. Some have great teams and others have a large amount of personal sales but organization to speak of.

The one with the successful group makes twice the income as the other. Although both are successful, the team builder has more income opportunities because he trains others to be successful and keeps his chain intact.

With team building, a large part of so many HomeBased Business’s, it is time we refocus on creating and teaching the skills to do so.

Giving is one of the keys to success. When you give to others and assist them to success, you are sure to be rewarded in your own success. And you will also be building a dynamic group of leaders.
