Home Business Success Versus The Aussie Two Up System
In every successful Home based Business there is a pay structure in place. One of the popular systems is the Aussie Two-Up because it is very lucrative.
As always, these are only my views and opinions. I am not here to review any business and be negative about any. I am just expressing my views and offering my opinion.
Let me explain what I see as the challenges with these pay plans.
1. The first 2 sign ups go to the trainer or enrolling rep. These are often known as referral sales.
2. Most of the people only enroll 1.6 people, less than the 2 need to be in a money making position.
3. 95% of all Home Based Business owners that use this pay plan do not make any money.
4. Because of failure rates there is a lot of attrition. That is, most people leave the business without making any money.
5. Because of this attrition, it can be very challenging to build a team.
When people get involved in a home based business they are usually doing it for the money. They have dreams of making a ton and the Aussies System does pay well for those who have success.
The first and biggest flaw I see with these programs is the fulfillment of the 2 training sales that must be passed up. With the average person making less than the 2 sales, you can see where there would not be many that have success.
In the 2-up, these sales go to the referring associate or trainer that you sign up under. And if you tap your warm market, people you know, to fulfill these 2 sales and then you do not go on to make money, you may lose those friendships as well.
The second flaw is there are many home based business’s that use this structure and therefore the newbie’s struggle to succeed.
A large portion of the challenge is in the marketing. If you do not know how to market and your up line doesn’t know either you are left to master this alone. Sure there are lots of ways and everyone has an idea to try. However, many of those enrolling do not have a clue and therefore can not teach you.
One of the many people I have worked with in this business was a great leader. He is very successful and continues to do well. He also came from a strong business background and was in really good shape financially to begin with.
Why does that matter? Because, he could afford to learn and to experiment to get the results. If you are new and do not have the extra income to put forth to experiment than marketing can be a real challenge to overcome.
This rings very evident when you are being told to “figure it out”
Why on earth would someone who just brought you into the business, expecting 2 training sales from you, tell you to “figure it out”?
They insinuate that it is a Leadership issue and that you need to take responsibility.
I agree that everyone is responsible for their own success; however, this comes from the very same people that told you that they could/would train you to make a ton of money as well.
The fact is they may also be new and still trying to figure it out for themselves and can’t give you too many pointers that actually work.

So how does the new guy achieve success?
First and foremost, by finding a product or service that can sell itself.
Believe me you will be told that by all the companies, but for many its just crap.
Second, choose a plan that pays from day one on every sale or referral you make. You should be in a position to make money from the start so that all your referrals are on your team.
Finally, by using a system that truly duplicates itself and you are proud to represent. That’s how a product sells itself.
MLM’s have gotten a bad rap over the years despite having great products and pay structures. People are easily confusing them with pyramid schemes, which are illegal.
The truth is that all businesses are multi level!
Think about it. There is 1 CEO, then from there several VP’s, then even more managers, then supervisors and then the rest of us, the labor.
Each level gets paid different with the most paid at the top. The real difference is that in a good MLM with a great product, anyone can become a CEO.
That’s the nature of having your own business; you determine how far you go and how much you make.
To me the best programs are the ones that pay out in many ways. For instance, when you sell the product then you make a commission. If you choose to also offer the opportunity to others then you build a team and make something for you efforts. Of course the basis of MLM is that you get paid on the different levels of business.
But if you just want to sell product that should also be enough to make you a tidy part time to full time income over time. Let’s face it, not everyone wants to recruit and they shouldn’t have to in order to make an income. But the rewards are greater when you do.
Also, residual income is important now days as well. No one wants to be in constant “sell” mode. Your business should grow with you as you develop better leadership skills and assist others to grow.
That’s what true leadership entails. Showing others HOW to succeed, not just telling them to figure it out.
All in all I do not recommend the Aussie 2-up for beginners. The key to any business is marketing. If you’re not proud of your product or service enough to offer it to anyone you see or your closest friend, then it’s probably not the right business for you.
You should be excited about the opportunity and really wish to share it, especially with the ones you love. If it truly is the greatest business you have ever found then why would you not want everyone you know to be able to benefit from it?
That is a key question to ask yourself next time you are looking at a presentation or opportunity.
Is this something that I would be proud to offer to my mother or any other close member of the family?
If your answer is no, then that should also be the answer to the opportunity.
A respected, successful business thrives on word of mouth to spread the news about their product. Whether you selling pizzas or doing landscaping, your business will grow if people are telling others about your service.
Find something you can proudly offer to anyone and you will be successful.
True success if measured by how you give service and add value to others.
To Your Success,
