Using the 10% Effect with your time.

One of the many challenges of achieving success in your home based business whether it is MLM or Network Marketing, is finding the time to dedicate to your business. Obviously, if you do not put in the time you will not have any business.

I ran into this challenge many times, even when working consistently. I often found myself distracted and not putting in enough energy in the right areas.

Time is an issue for everyone so here's a 10% Effect that worked for me to help manage time.

When I first started working my business and I was also building a website that would be used for lead generation. I came upon the idea to do so because, basically, I didn't have any self generated leads and I was sick of buying them.

During this time I was working second shift, caring for my younger daughter during the day so my wife could work and go to school and I was attempting to build my business.

My days were long and often unproductive, business wise, because I often was running on little sleep, and even less motivation to work my business. So my time was cramped just like many of you.

During this time, I also knew that I was not going to succeed in my business or personal life if I could not manage my time better. So I committed to making a change using what I call the 10% Effect.

The plan was that if I could dedicate just 10% of my time working on my home based business. It would eventually take off.

I broke down all of my available time, after work and sleep hours, and they came to about eight hours left in the day. Of course that doesn’t include overtime or travel time, but the idea was to find the time.

At about 480 minutes, if I just focused my efforts for 48 minutes on my website and business, that should be enough to get things moving.

As a result my business began to grow, as well as my website. And, naturally, as my business prospered it allowed me more time as well. The 10% that I put into my business initially grew to a larger amount of time as my success did.

Now I apply the 10% Effect to everything my business needs to have growth. Whether it is website development, training new reps or researching new marketing ideas, the task gets 10% of my time each day until accomplished.

The 10% Effect will assist you if you are committed to success. When you put focused energy on a task you will accomplish it faster and more completely.

If you take some time to think about it you’d be amazed at where you can apply this method. There are several things we put off because of a lack of time.

Another area that I use it is with my workout schedule. With my medical condition, I need to focus an exercise every day to improve my overall health. I was like many people and didn't think I had the time to do so. Mostly, it was my lack of desire to exercise.

I applied the rule to my exercise plan and began to put in 48 minutes everyday on the treadmill. It didn't take long for this pattern to become a habit for me and now I never miss a workout.

I'd also suggest you apply this method to make some time for your personal development in order to become successful. We must train our minds to except success. And it needs to be practiced daily for it to take hold. You can do this by reading a book, listening to an audio tape or watch a motivational DVD. Whatever puts you in the mindset of success.

If you don't have 48 minutes of time every day to devote to any of these things, break it down to 5% or 24 minutes. That's how I started my exercise program. But once I got moving, I found it easier to continue and hit my goal of10%.

This 10% method works in many ways, but it still takes you to make the commitment to make it successful.

Always remember, success is a choice, you need only to decide.
