If you’re going to use paid advertising, know what the budget is and stick to it like glue. There is nothing worse than seeing a campaign finally get some wheels and the money runs out before it can be replaced. If you plan to use free methods, realize that they can/may take longer to get results.

• Finally, once you have a plan…Work the plan. So many of us give up when we are 3 feet from the gold. Continuous action will outlast even the best of plans with no action taken. You do not need to be the best at every strategy; you need to master one or two and do over and over. For instance, if you plan to use free methods, like article marketing, then see what the competition is doing and do even more. The ones that are really making money are working daily.

The real key to using effective marketing strategies is to just be persistent and consistent. Don’t jump from one method to the next and never take any real action. Find a method that you enjoy, so it doesn’t feel like work, and just do it. Long term success does not happen overnight, that would make it an oxymoron. It takes planning and then working the plan.
